ONE PITTSBURGH FISHER HOUSE ISN'T ENOUGH!
Since opening in 2012, the Pittsburgh Fisher House has been operating at or over capacity so it became clear that 10 rooms are not enough. To meet the need in our community, the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and Fisher House Foundation jointly made the decision to build a second Pittsburgh Fisher House, this one on the H. John Heinz III Campus (Aspinwall). The new house, with 16 rooms, will more than double the capacity for veterans' families to stay for free while their loved one is receiving care at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. To make this second house a reality, Friends of the Pittsburgh Fisher House has embarked on the Helping Heroes Heal capital campaign to raise $3 million. We're more than halfway to our local fundraising goal and we need your help! You can read more about the project in our brochure and we hope you'll consider getting involved or donating. |
